The trio of business man, Mike Adenuga, Police Officer, Chioma Ajunwa-Opara and IT guru, Leo Stan Ekeh were some of the recipients of the Zakilo award given out during  Alibaba January 1st concert held at Eko hotel and suites, Lagos on January 1, 2015.

The three were awarded for being pioneers in their fields; establishing Nigeria’s first indigenous telecoms,  being the first athlete to win an Olympic gold medal and  establishing Nigeria’s first internationally certified computer brand respectively.

Also awarded were Aloma Mariam Mukhtar for being the first female Judge to be sworn into the bench of the supreme court and Yewande Cole for being the first and only female flight engineer in Nigeria.

The awards were presented by the First Lady of Lagos State, Abimbola Fashola and wife of late Zakilo, in whose honour the awards were given.

The concert also witnessed performances from top musicians including 2face, Sound Sultan, Omawumi, Waje, Vector, Black Magic and comedians, Tee A, AY, Gbenga Adeyinka, Bovi, De Don, Jeddi, Princess, Helen Paul and others.

In attendance were dignitaries from different walks of life including billionnaires, Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, media moguls, Mo Abudu, Dele Momodu, singer, Tiwa Savage and her husband, Tunji Balogun, Toyin Aimakhu, Annie Idibia and others.
